PARABLES

When I was very young I started reading the Bible.    The more I read it, the more I wanted of it.   I never tired of picking up the Book and ‘getting inside’ it!

When I came upon the ‘stories’ within the pages of the Bible, in the beginning, I took the writing too ‘literally’.   I would think, ‘Why would God put someone in a ‘Lions Den’ and leave Him alone, when He loves him.   (Old Testament-Book Daniel: Chapter 6 verses 16-17)   Another story, is Jonah within the stomach of a whale.(Old Testament-Book of Jonah: Chapter 2 verses 1-10) I would think; ‘really, how can that be?’

There are other stories in the Bible, Old and New Testaments, that intrigue the imagination.    However, now that I have been reading and, walking with the LORD, I can see He was ‘preparing us’  all of us, for life.    For within the pages of the Holy Bible are the rules, and commandments put forth by OUR GOD!    The rule book, is the HOLY BIBLE!   In other words, you can do anything without the rules, but it has no merit.   With God, it is all about merit.

Anyone, can do anything, but if there are no rules, how can it hold true?   In other words, within the parameters of this life, rules must be imposed and followed, or we are like feathers blowing in the wind.

God’s instructions in His Book are to enrich our lives.   Following these instructions brings forth blessings…peace…contentment,,,joy…prosperity…faith,,,hope…love!    Truly, when once found, and applied, they mold us into ‘children’ God is pleased with.   He, being Our Heavenly Father, does the molding.   We must do the asking.   Asking starts with desire.   If  you desire to understand, then you have taken the first step to completion.   For God completes us!   It is for us to understand the life we lead is not done…it is only beginning.    It is beginning in finding God, knowing God, and loving God.   He waits!!   For every soul, matters to God.   Every soul is His child.

The Bible prepares our thinking when parables are used, because we desire to understand; we continually come back for more.    Then the enlightenment begins.    God is heard in our thoughts and  we listen and obey.    This is the holiness of God.

I ask you, ‘do you walk up on the street and talk to anybody?    Well,  sometimes we do.   However, this is God in action.   He walks into the hearts of His children, and waits for a response.   If you say ‘nice day’ isn’t it, and I don’t respond, you do not usually continue.   My point is God is similar.   He taps each of us on the shoulder, by a thought or word, or somebody.   Whatever the means, He is working.   God is waiting for everyone of us to ask, seek, and find.    He will not fail.   He will not turn anyone away.    For as Jesus said, ‘ask and you will receive seek and you will find, and knock and it will be opened to you.’   When Jesus spoke,( the Father and He are one)   He was reinforcing the writings of old.   So when the New Testament is read, the Old Testament is brought to light  through Jesus Christ’s instruction.

Now that I am as far along on my journey of life as I am, I know God was talking about being ready.   Ready yourself for life;  for it is not easy, there will be storms, (Jesus walks on water, Book of Matthew: Chapter 14 verses 25-27)   Again, reminding us He is with us, no matter how turbulent the storms of life are.   Jesus came to live amongst us, so that we  would believe.   This is why the HOLY BIBLE is so imperative to living a Christian life.

We can do anything without rules, but we do not know what we are doing wrong when we do not listen to the rules.   Jesus came to live out the rules.   Remember, He said, “Father forgive them, they know not what they do!’      This is why He said that.    The rules are of God.   He is of God.   We cannot know without God.   God is within the rule book, the Most Holy Bible.   If you wish to ‘know’ what life is all about,  open the rule book, the “HOLY BIBLE;”  you will be glad you did!

May God Bless You !

Book of John: Chapter 12 verse 44-46  Jesus Speaks:  44)  Jesus proclaimed aloud:

” Whoever puts faith in Me believes not so much in me as in him who sent me; 45) and whoever looks on me is seeing  him who sent me.  46) I have come to the world as its light, to keep anyone who believes in me from remaining in the dark.”

Book of John: Chapter 10 verses 28-30

28) “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.   No one shall snatch them out of my hand.   29) My Father is greater than all, in what he has given me, and there is no snatching out of his hand.   30) The Father and I are one.”
