You have heard the saying, ‘the glass is half-full, or the glass is half-empty.’
If life is equated to a glass of water, we can understand that it is viewed by all differently.
So too, we see ourselves differently than those who view us. Finding ourselves with out fault; we find it much easier to cast aspersions on another. When indeed, each of us must choose ‘how’ to see.
The choice, with or without divine intervention can bring forth another consequence all its own.
When Jesus was with us, He worked many miracles. He spoke in parables, and left the crowds spell bound. Yet, even after seeing Him they cast Him aside. They, many chose to abandon Jesus and return to their life as they knew it.
Coming to Christ is like a glass of water that is completely full to the rim. One can not see the contents of the glass from a distance, but must move up closely to see that it is full. Jesus Christ can not be realized until we come up close. Those within the parables and miracles of His time, came up close. To see and experience Jesus, we must come up close. In doing so, we experience Him…
Book of Luke: Chapter 5 verse 17-26
17) One day Jesus was teaching, and the power of the LORD made him heal. Sitting ‘close’ by were the Pharisees and teachers of the law who had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. 18) Some men came along carrying a paralytic on a mat. They were trying to bring him in and lay him before Jesus; 19) but they found no way of getting him through because of the crowd, so they went up on the roof. There they let him down with his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd before Jesus. 20) Seeing their faith, Jesus said, “My friend, your sins are forgiven you.” 21) The scribes and the Pharisees began a discussion, saying: “Who is this man who utters blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” 22) Jesus, however, knew their reasoning and answered them by saying: “Why do you harbor these thoughts? 23) Which is easier: to say, your sins are forgiven you,’ or say, ‘Get up and walk’? 24)In any case, to make it clear to you that the Son Of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” He then addressed the paralyzed man: “I say to you, get up! Take your mat with you, and return to your house.” 25) At once the man stood erect before them. He picked up the mat he had been lying on and went home praiseing God. 26) At this they were all seized with astonishment. Full of awe, they gave praise to God, saying, ” We have seen incredible things today!”
To know Jesus, experience Jesus, draw close to Jesus…through prayer, and submission, and Jesus will draw close to you.
Book of John: verse 31-33
31) Jesus answered them: “ Do you really believe? 32) An hour is coming-has indeed already come- when you will be scattered and each will go his own way, leaving me quite alone. ( yet I can never be alone; the Father is with me.) 33) I tell you all this that in me you may find peace. You will suffer in the world. But take courage! I have overcome the world.”
