TEARS & DOLORS

When we experience tears, we usually give little thought of why, but embrace the pain, trying to understand its meaning.

When we experience Christmas, and the great joy it brings,  or Easter, and its greatest salvation, few consider her.     The Mother who brought forth the Son that we celebrate, on these most beautiful occasions.

Unless, One is Catholic few consider the Mother who shared her only Son with the whole world!

A person asked me what they should say as to why Mary is so special.     Remind them, I said, ‘ that without Mary there is no Christmas, and no Easter!’

Mothers are so tied to their children, they would sooner die, than have their child die.   Mary, obedient to the Father succumbed to the greatest trial any woman could bare….the very death of a part of herself!!    Without hesitation and with great devotion to the will of God…Mary suffered…The following are the sufferings of Our Blessed Mother Mary on behalf of the whole world.    Mary loves unceasingly….

The Seven Tears and Dolors of the Blessed Virgin Mary:

1)The Prophecy of Simeon:   St. Luke Chapter 2 verses 34-35:   Hope:   Here Mary & Joseph, have Jesus baptized, only to hear their Son would be the rise and fall of mankind.   (“HOPE”  for a broken world, may we never lose hope)

2) The Flight into Egypt: St Matthew Chapter 2 Verses 13-14:   Steadfastness:   Here Mary and Joseph, flee with Jesus after hearing that the first born son, under two years of age, will be killed under Herod’s orders.  always obedient !  (May we never tire of journeying with Jesus, Mary and Joseph on the road of life, but that they may be our examples)

3)The Loss of the Child Jesus in the Temple:   Faith: Luke: Chapter 2 verses 43-45    Here Mary and Joseph lose sight of their Son Jesus, and search for him, only to find him in the Temple  teaching  the, doctors, learned, and the elders, who are amazed!  FAITH:   Always believing!  (May we never stop searching for Jesus, rejoicing after finding him, and applying His teachings to our daily lives.)

4)The Meeting of Jesus and Mary on the way of the cross: Devotion:  Upon the carrying of the cross, the second time Jesus fell, Mary looked upon her Son and He said, woman why do you cry for me, my task is soon done. ( not a direct quote)…Mary was devoted to Jesus, and Jesus to Mary, always until death   May we always be ‘Devoted’ to Jesus as Mary, and as Mary to Jesus.

5)The Crucifixion: Suffering:    Jesus dies on the Cross, for the sins of the whole world!  Mary stands at the foot of the Cross with Her Son Jesus, suffering with Him, as any Mother for her child.  (Within the journey of this life, our sufferings are our crucifixion with our risen LORD.)   May we suffer with our cross, with Jesus and Mary as our guides!

6)The taking down of the Body of Jesus  from the cross: Love:  Mary holds her son in her arms, and cries for the souls of the whole world!   (May we always hold the love of Christ in our hearts, as Mary held the Love of Her Son Jesus in her arms!)

7) The Burial of Jesus! Death:   Mary stands at the grave of Her Son Jesus!   May we die with Christ, never leaving His side.  Obedient as Mary til death!

May the Love of the Mother of God be infused in your hearts forever!   Mary conceived without sin, suffers with the whole world still today.   Her Son Jesus Christ standing with her.   Mary waits for her children, as any Mother!    To embrace Mary, follow this prayer, and experience the love of a Mother, and she will lead you to her Son Jesus Christ!

“Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.   Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.    Holy Mary, Mother of God,  pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.” Amen.
