OPEN WOUNDS

As we journey through this life, and become battered by life’s storms,  we find ourselves with open wounds.

We meet people along the way and sometimes we love them and they do not know how to love us.    This is an open wound.   It remains, whether we are aware or of it not.    When this occurs, our responses vary according to whom and how it occurred.

Through life’s  journey, we must each decide how to endure the open wounds.   For some of us, we  reach out to others.   Some, turn to vices for a ‘quick fix’:  the contraband of the world, sex, drugs, pornography, affairs, booze, money, pillaging, rape, murder, even suicide.

Whatever the occurrence, and whom ever is responsible, the open wound remains.    Dealing with it starts with recognizing it for what it is.

First we must have the courage to realize we made the transgression ourselves.    Forgiving oneself is just as important as forgiving others.    For we must love ourselves as well as our brothers and sisters in Christ!

Christ loves us all!   We have first to embrace that, and then go to work on loving ourselves!   For as I said before, Satan is at work to separate each of us from the love of Christ.    We each have our ‘hot-spots’-that which contributes to our idiosyncrasies!

If we are afraid of being alone, we are then faced with the torment that comes from being alone.    Sounds simple enough; yet when failure to address what we are feeling is ignored, it festers.    You’ve heard the saying, making a mountain out of a molehill; well, it can become destructive, ‘self-destructive’.

When we are prayerful people, and believe in the ‘Almighty’ then we are already one up on Satan.    Why?   Because God knows His Own!!   His own turn to Him, and He leads them to the way, the truth and the life~ Namely, Jesus !    He puts forth the direction and actions to seek.   I assure you suicide is never the answer, none of the above contraband is an answer.

With in the Word of God, Jesus addresses many many situations, and ultimately concludes the answer.    He never leaves one hanging!  However, the general consensus today, is that He does!    Not True!   God helps us endure our mistakes, no matter how grave.    The open wound will heal, but the scar will remain.    The scar reminding us that we are human and He loves us all the more because of it.

Many make the mistake of closing themselves out, with the’ hardened heart’!   They believe that ‘protecting’ their heart from ‘revealing’ to much emotion, they are being wise.   However, true living comes from true loving, and true loving brings forth fullness of life.

You may hurt along the way.   You may make mistakes along the way, and you may incur ‘open wounds’ along the way, but that is where the truth is.   That is where the life is, and that is where the love is!   life without love is dead.   That is not to say, go out and have sex, and have it frequently.   Rather, it is to say, open your heart, and reveal the true you.

Many suppress who they really are, and never find living at its fullest.   It does hurt to be betrayed, abandoned, and alone, yet, Jesus did it!  He incurred it first, from us!   If we are to suffer with Christ to achieve the fullness of life , then we must have an ‘open heart’!

Book of John:   Chapter 15 verse 11-12   Jesus Speaks

11)”All this I tell you that my joy may be yours and your joy may complete.   12) This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you.”

Book of John Chapter 17 Verses 14-19  Jesus Speaks:

14)”I gave them your word, and the world has hated them for it;   they do not belong to the world (any more than I belong to the world).   15) I do not ask you to take them out of the world, but to guard them from the evil one.   16) They are not to of the world, any more than I belong to the world. 17) Consecrate them by means of truth-‘your word is truth’.   18) As you have sent me into the world; so I have sent them into the world; 19) I consecrate myself for their sakes now, that they may be consecrated in truth.”

Book of John continued:  17:26

26) “To them I have revealed your name, and I will continue to reveal it so that your love for me may live in them, and I may live in them.”

“A Disciple’s Love”:  Book of John Chapter 15 verses 9-10

9) “As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you.  Live on in my love.   10) You will live in my love if you keep my commandments, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and live in his love.”
