LOST

Before cell phones, GPS, and the lap-tops, there were ‘maps’!   Perhaps they are still used today, but definitly not to the extent that they were.  Then, even with a ‘map’ there was the chance of misdirection.

In the 1980’s I found myself in the city of Jacksonville, Florida  alone.    Fortunatley for me it was day.   I found myself lost and totally misdirected.    I came upon a firestation, and asked for directions.   The young man who ‘helped’ said, ‘Lady you are in a very bad part of town!   You need to get out of this area!’   To the point, he said, ‘make sure your doors and windows are locked!’

After having given me the directions, I needed I left, and ‘prayed’ that God would help me out of there.   Of course He did!   For I’m here to tell about it today!

The sense of direction can be totally detoured if we do not pay attention.   To many distractions and concerns fill our day, and then we realize this is not where we want to be!

The key is not having been lost, but realizing and doing something about it!   It is totally human to make mistakes, and become misguided!   That is why the Lord gives us each other!   He has made us all ‘brothers and sisters in Christ’!   Yet, some are very misguided and totally lost!   When we refuse to speak on behalf of Jesus do to ‘humility’ or chastisement, then we are ‘Abandoning Christ!’

The sense of direction that we all need is from Jesus!   Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.   (Book of John: Chapter 14 verse 6) He knows the way, is the way,  teaches us the truth, and the life we all desire, then becomes ours.

Realizing we need to ask for help is what it is all about.   The ‘help’ is available from the learned of the faith.  Seek someone out that is a believer; a Priest, or Pastor, but if you are not comfortable with that, then ask a ‘faithful friend’.   For realizing we need ‘help and guidance’ is already getting us half-way home.

Chapter 14 verses 5-7   Jesus speaks:

5)”Lord,” said Thomas, “We do not know where you are going.   How can we know the way?”   6)Jesus told him: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father but through me. 7)If you really knew me, you would know my Father also.   From this point on you know him: you have seen him.”
