That which warms the heart, delights the mind and brings contentment to the soul, comforts the spirit, a true friend!
True Friends are difficult to come by. They can be a friend in name only, and prove their worth when trials come. For a true friend rejoices when you rejoice and weeps when you weep! Compassion such as this is difficult to come by. It is a gift from God. Blessings of a faithful friend, are liken to knowing love. For to know what love is, is to know God. For God is Love. If one does not know God, can one know Love? No! For purity of true love is given by God Our Father, a blessing of grace, and favor bestowed upon His faithful.
Leaving one betrayed, abandoned and alone, a false friend will crush the spirit! Jesus, the truest of friends was left betrayed, abandoned and alone, when His trials came. Yet, Jesus forgave His friends, and He forgives us. Yet, we, the offenders, must ask for forgiveness. This a requirement to enter into the kingdom of heaven. For He, the truest friend, ‘needs’ to know we are sincerely sorry for our offenses! For otherwise our Savior would have died in vain! God forbid! Forgiveness, which is of God, will through the Holy Spirit guide and instruct us.
Jesus is ‘pure love’ perfecting us through His blood, which will lead us to the Glory of God the Father.
Book of Sirach Chapter 6 verses 6-17
6)”Let your acquaintances be many, but one in a thousand your confidant. 7)When you gain a friend, first test him, and be not too ready to trust him. 8) For one sort of a friend, is a friend when it suits him, but he will not be with you in time of distress. 9) Another is a friend who becomes an enemy, and tells of the quarrel to your shame. 10) Another is a friend, a boon companion, who will not be with you when sorrow comes. 11)When things go well, he is your other self, and lords it over your servants; 12) But if you are brought low, he turns against you and avoids meeting you. 13) Keep away from your enemies; be on your guard with your friends. 14) A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter; he who finds one finds a treasure. 15) A faithful friend is beyond price, no sum can balance his worth. 16) A faithful friend is a life-saving remedy, such as he who fears God finds; 17) For he who fears God behaves accordingly, and his friend will be like himself.”
