GIFTS

When  we’re  compelled to write a card, or buy a gift for someone that comes to mind, it is usually because the reciever is in ‘need’ of it!  I have had friends tell me, ‘your card came at the most perfect time, I really needed that!’       Following that same desire were the three kings, that went to search for the new born King!  They ‘needed’ that!

They, felt a pulling of the ‘Holy Spirit’!    The star that shown so brightly was Gods confirmation that this was His desire!!    They, following the prompting of the Holy Spirit, made the long arduous journey!

Those three kings did not arrive empty handed!  Indeed, they each had a different gift!     As a matter of fact, so perfect were these gifts that the gifts, Frankincense, myrrh, and gold, were priceless!   Priceless as the ‘new born king ‘!!

Why?   Because God Our Father deemed it as such!    For who amongst us really ‘needs’ a gift?!   It is the spirit that governs the giving and the spirit that recieves!   Yet, to what degree is it recieved?

When a gift so priceless is taken for granted, and the giver, (God Our Father) is ignored, and the sacrifice ignored, where does that leave us?   Is this not an insult to God?

Loving, and giving, and forgiving, are of God!  When we oppose these gifts we oppose the love of God!   The love of God present in Jesus Christ, His Son, and the blessing of the Holy Spirit that guides us to Him!

In the Book of Luke chapter 8 verses 17-18 Jesus Speaks:

17)“There is nothing hidden that will not be exposed, nothing conealed that will not be made known and brought to light. 18) Take heed, therefore, how you hear; to the man who has, more will be given; and he who has not will lose even the little he thinks he has.”

To find Jesus is to pray, and desire His heart to be within our heart.   Our ‘gift’ that He waits for, is our heart!   He is a journey.   He promps our heart with a desire for more!   The answer to His call is our gift to Him.   He asks only that we love Him as  He loves us!

Book of Matthew, Chapter 2 verses 9-11

9)”After their audience with the king, they set out.   The star which they had observed at its rising went ahead of them until it came to a standstill over the place where the child was.   10)They were overjoyed at seeing the star, 11)and on entering the house, found the child with Mary his mother.   They prostrated themselves and did him homage.   Then they opened their coffers and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”
