Life is a burden. When we are ‘freed’ from living in the guidance, and instruction of our parents we discover quickly that life is not easy. Rather we conclude that it takes perseverance and discipline. Without perseverance and discipline we lose our ‘way’ quickly! Only to find ourselves without direction.
The Lord Jesus Christ covered this in His sermons too. He, under the instruction of our Heavenly Father was guided to say and do, so that we may grow in wisdom. However, it seems many feel they do not need wisdom but are already wise in their own right.
When life gets hard, extremely difficult, and relentless in its trials, we either become angry or we become ‘wise’ and we stop and reflect. We reflect on where we are going, and what we are doing. In the spirit of a loving God, He draws us in when we call upon Him to ‘help’. God wants us to ask for help! If it hurts bad enough, and the ‘anquish’ supersedes anything we have ever experienced, we will ask for His help. God sends us these challenges in our lives to draw us to Him.
Jeus Christ spoke very succinctly when He said the following:
Matthew, Chapter 11 verses 28-30
28)”Come to Me, all of you who are weary and find life burdensome; I will refresh you. Take my yoke on your shoulders and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of Heart. You shall find rest because My yoke is easy and My burden light.”
Book Of Sirach chapter 2 verses 10-14
10)”Study the generations long past and understand; has anyone hoped in the LORD and been disappointed? Has anyone persevered in his fear and been forsaken? has anyone called upon him and been rebuffed? 11)Compassionate and merciful is the LORD; he forgives sins, he saves in time of trouble. 12) Woe to craven hearts and drooping hands, to the sinner who treads a double path! 13) Woe to the faint of heart who trust not, who therefore will find no shelter! 14) Woe to you who have lost hope!”
True Wisdom: 1st Corinthians Chapter 2 verse 9
9)”Eye has not seen ear has not heard nor has it so much as dawned on man what God has prepared for those who love Him.”
