HAPPY 4th of JULY

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

We  have the opportunity to speak freely, pray freely, write openly, and express ourselves openly.    This  freedom is available to the mulititudes because of people who believed.   They believed God wanted more for His people.   Today we are still fighting for those freedoms.   The United States of America has a flag just like many other countries, yet there are some who do not pledge alligiance  to her, but prefer their own country’ s flag.   This is immoral.  As Americans we must profess our love for ‘Old Glory’ together or destroy ourselves from within.

The Pledge of Allegiance:

“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty, and justice for all.”

Fact: Whenever, The ‘Pledge of Allegiance’ is recited, all non-uniformed persons should stand at attention facing the flag with their right hands over their hearts.   Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag and render the military salute.

Fact: The ‘Star Spangled Banner” was written in 1814 by Francis Scott Key and declared the national anthem in 1931.    When the anthem is played or sung, citizens should stand and face the flag to show their respect for the United States of America.   A non-uniformed person wearing a hat must remove it with the right hand and hold it against the left shoulder, right hand resting over the heart.

Quote: By, Henry Cabot Lodge, 1915

“THE FLAG STANDS FOR ALL THAT WE HOLD DEAR-FREEDOM,DEMOCRACY, GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, AND FOR THE PEOPLE.”

FACT:

‘THE FLAG SHOULD ALWAYS BE TREATED WITH THE UNMOST CARE AND  RESPECT.   REMEMBER, THE FLAG REPRESENTS A LIVING COUNTRY AND, AS SUCH, IS CONSIDERED A LIVING THING.’

QUOTE: BY HENRY WARD BEECHER, 1861

“A THOUGHTFUL MIND, WHEN IT SEES A NATION’S FLAG, SEES NOT THE FLAG ONLY, BUT THE NATION ITSELF.”

FLYING AT HALF-STAFF:

FLYING THE U.S. FLAG AT HALF STAFF, OR IN A SHIP AT HALF-MAST, IS AN HONORED TRADITION WHICH SIGNIFIES THAT THE NATION IS IN MOURNING DUE TO THE DEATH OF A PROMINENT CITIZEN.

The above facts were taken from the American Flag pamphlet by Annin flagmakers.

‘ THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA SHOULD ALWAYS BE TREATED WITH THE UNTMOST RESPECT.   REMEMBER, THE FLAG REPRESENTS A LIVING COUNTRY AND, AS SUCH, IS CONSIDERED A LIVING THING.’
