WHISKER RUB

When I was a small child and we went to visit my grandparents, my grandfather would always say, ‘come give us a kiss’!  I hated it so, because he always had whiskers.   It was never a kiss, but a ‘whisker rub.’   He would laugh and I woud rub my cheek.  Evidently it made his day to see me ‘frown’.    My Father, unlike my Grandfather always was clean shaven and took delight in hugging and kissing me with his newly shaved face.   This brothers and sisters, is what sin is like.   How you say?    Well, the bearded man does not see the change in himself.   Rather he sees himself as ‘funny’.   He takes delight in his actions, and watching others squirm.   Whereas, He who is clean, and freshly manicured, is a delight to be around.  He smells good and enjoys the delight he gives to another.   This why sin is so hard to detect.   We do not see ourselves as others do.   We think when we become lax and lazy no one notices.   Yet, contrary to popular opinion that is not the case.   It is so true, that a very spiritual person, (one who prays and is in communion with the Lord) comes in contact with the one in darkness, they can feel the evil.   This is a gift from the Holy Spirit.    Eventually, the sinner will become heavily laden.   He will not know why but he will be tired all the time.   Similar to one who eats and thinks he is not putting on weight.   Only difference is he eventually sees the change.   Often times the sinner does not see the error of his ways.   Things begin to change.   People are not as receptive and the ‘distractions’ take over.   They are not comfortable around people who are in the ‘light’.   The light exposes the darkness.  Then the company he keeps is no longer of interest.   This can lead to divorce in marriages, even suicide.

Evil is real.   Its interest is only in what it deems needs to be.   We can look at History,Osama Bin Laden, and Adolph Hitler, to name a couple. By the same token we can look at people in the ‘light’.  Pope John Paul the II and Mother Theresa for instance.   The paralell is obvious.    This is why there is no disputing evil is real.   Evil destroys.
